Basic to advance therapies for Asthma

Tuberculosis (TB) Tuberculosis is a contagious infection caused by bacteria that usually affects the lungs. Common symptoms include a persistent cough, fever, weight loss, night sweats, and coughing up sputum. It is treated with a combination of antibiotics taken for several months. Pneumonia Pneumonia is an infection that causes inflammation of the air sacs in the lungs, which may fill with fluid or pus. Symptoms include cough, fever, chest pain, and shortness of breath. Treatment depends on the cause and may include antibiotics, antiviral medicines, fluids, and rest.

Biologics are advanced medicines made from living cells that target specific parts of the immune system. In pulmonary medicine, they are used to treat severe Asthma and certain allergic lung diseases when standard inhalers do not provide adequate control. These treatments help reduce inflammation, decrease attacks, and improve breathing.

SLIT is an allergy treatment in which a small tablet or drops containing the allergen are placed under the tongue daily. Over time, it helps the immune system become less sensitive to allergens such as dust mites, pollen, and mold, reducing allergy symptoms and the need for medications.

Inhaler A device that delivers medicine directly into the lungs to relieve breathlessness and control conditions such as Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. DPI (Dry Powder Inhaler) A type of inhaler that contains medicine in powder form and is activated by taking a deep, fast breath. Nebulization Therapy A treatment that converts liquid medicine into a fine mist, which is inhaled through a mask or mouthpiece for easier breathing.

A Pulmonary Function Test is a simple breathing test that measures how well your lungs work. It checks how much air you can inhale and exhale and how efficiently your lungs transfer oxygen into your blood. It is commonly used to diagnose and monitor conditions such as Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Pulmonary Fibrosis. The test is non-invasive, painless, and usually takes 30–60 minutes.
